50th Anniversary

The Bridge was 50 years old on the 18 August 2016. Our day of public celebration in Slessor Gardens, Dundee was very well attended and we hope that everyone had a lovely time. The weather was very kind to us! Thanks to all those who shared their memories of the bridge. Some of the recollections we received are available to download below, along with very interesting audio recordings of Neil Robertson (Crane Driver) and Bert Smith ("Puggie" Driver). Thanks to Neil and Bert for contributing.  Thanks also to everyone who came together to help us deliver a wonderful event, including, but not limited to, Dundee City Council, Fife Council, the Dundee Museum of Transport, Taymara (Tay Maritime Action), Xplore Dundee, Stagecoach, David Anderson Marine and the Byre Theatre of St.Andrews. Thanks also to the National Lottery Heritage Fund without which our sharing of memories would have been difficult to organise. The fantastic photography competition winning images can also be viewed below. Enjoy!
